One NightThen let me say I am now writing a much longer piece based on that. It will have illustrations. And unlike my other projects I know how most of this one will work out, and have most of it planned. The images are almost all planned too, so it should be good.

The Small BoyThe sun glittered though the soft cascades of falling autumn leaves, filling the air with a radiant dewy orange. The golden shade of the aspens collected drops of the light and pooled them across the shallow ponds that sat and collected frogs. Underneath a large oak tree with swollen branches sat a little bench that was built in such a time past that the tree had begun to engulf and consume the sad little wrought-iron lace of the Victorian chaise. The RoadIt is a long road. I am yet far from the end and farther from the start. I have lost track of how many days I have been walking this road and I no longer recall how many miles it is in total. I suppose I will just keep going till either the road stops. Or I have to. This area is not so hard. The paving stones are all smooth from wear and the soft spray from the ocean is cooling. There is a long cliff face on my right as I walk. The red-brown rock looms as a constant reminder of my isolation.
